Monday, April 3: “A Heart Issue”

Jeremiah 24: 7: “And I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the Lord; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart.” This is the third time Jeremiah has made this statement, and he will go on to make it four more times before the end of his book. It has its beginnings in Exodus, and is one of the last verses of Revelation. In all, God speaks this more than twenty times in Scripture: His desire to be our God, and for us to be His people. But here He shows us what makes it work: the heart. And even this is a gift from Him, so that no one can boast before Him.
