“Wisdom from the Wise”
Daniel 4: 27: “Therefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you; break away now from your sins by doing righteousness, and from your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor.” They say Daniel was one of the wisest men who ever lived, and he proves it here. He knew what the Lord expected from His children: a life of both righteousness, and mercy towards the poor. A few centuries before Micah had said the same thing (Micah 6: 8), and centuries afterward James did too (James 1: 27). Unfortunately most people either practice one only, or often, neither. There’s no wisdom in that!
