“Known by Actions”
Luke 24: 35: “And they began to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.” In many of Jesus’ post-resurrection appearances He wasn’t recognized by how He looked, but by what He did. This shows us that the nature of His resurrected body was somehow different from the one planted in the tomb (1 Corinthians 15: 42-45). This also helps us understand how we can partake of Christ’s body and blood in the Eucharist: we partake of His glorified body, not the pre-resurrection one. The rules for the two are simply different!
