“Revelation of Self”

Deuteronomy 8: 2: “You shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.” So, God didn’t know what was in their hearts? Of course He did. The testing was so that the Israelites would know. Sometimes we get pretty cocky, and think we can do anything, face any temptation. Nothing opens our eyes like a good old fashioned cave. It keeps us honest—and humble.
