“There’s Sin, and There’s Sins”

John 1: 29: “Behold the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world.” Yes, man still sins. This same John says so in his letters (1 John 1: 8 & 10, for example). But the sin of the world (singular, and that way in every reputable translation of the scriptures), the sin of not trusting and believing in God, that sin which brought the curse on mankind, has been taken away by Christ. And those other “sins”? They are forgiven through confession. When Jesus made purification of sins (Hebrews 1: 3) He didn’t do it halfway.
