“Comfort in Affliction”
2 Corinthians 1: 3b, 4: “The Father of all mercies and God of all comfort Who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” Have you ever had someone tell you, “I know what you’re going through,” when they actually had no clue? Not very comforting, is it? That’s part of what Jesus Christ did this Holy Week—His unparalleled suffering as a man uniquely qualifies Him to comfort us in our affliction, which in turn qualifies us to do the same for others.
