“The Gift that Enlightens You”

2 Corinthians 4: 6: “For God, Who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One Who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” When God created the light on Day 1 of creation (and the sun on Day 4) He was not coming up with something new, but a means to reflect His glory that has always been. What Christ brings us is that glory shining in a man (a truth we celebrate in today’s Feast of the Transfiguration) and our own transformation into that same image.
