April 12, 2024 Daily Dose of Discernment
For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God. (1 Peter 1:16)
Continuing with his instruction on everyday affairs like serving masters and submitting to husbands, Peter encourages his readers to let their light shine before men even when they suffer injustice because Jesus experienced the very same thing for the purpose of bringing people to God. And the people most in need of being brought to God are those who are lost and the unjust. His attitude toward them is mercy, not insistence on justice.
Let us have the same attitude as was in our Lord and join Him in making every knee bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord.
