“Zeal for Your house will consume me.” (John 2:17)

Some Christians are ridiculed and tagged as fanatics for their devotion. Chances are, the same bashers, like most people, are zealous themselves for something else - their career, a romantic relationship, a sport, a hobby, a vice - and spend time and money on it. We all value something more than others, albeit with differing degrees of intensity, some healthy, some unhealthy.

In a short video monologue from our church's TV show before, the character declares he is a fool for Christ, walks away, and then comes back and says, "By the way, whose fool are you?" That's a very good question to ask ourselves. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. That may be foolishness to the world, but it is wisdom to us.
