“God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” (John 3:17)
This declaration of Jesus should settle the matter. He doesn’t judge or condemn; He saves. In fact, He repeats it and proclaims that if anyone hears His words and does not obey them, he doesn’t judge him because He has not come to judge the world, but to save it (John 12:47). The Father may have given all judgment to the Son (John 5:22) but He, like His Father, doesn’t judge anyone. That offers incredible hope to the whole world.
If Jesus does only what He sees the Father doing, we should do only what we see Jesus doing. He saves and does not condemn, He heals and does not injure, He builds up and does not tear down, He gives life and does not kill. This is the pattern for living for His imitators.
