But Barnabas took hold of him and brought him to the apostles and described to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had talked to him, and how at Damascus he had spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus. (Acts 9:27)
While the disciples regarded Saul according to his old murderous nature and were afraid of him because of it, Barnabas saw him as a new creature in Christ and His power working through him.
Sometimes, we put a limit to God's grace and forget that where sin abounds, it abounds all the more. Let us put our trust in God's ability to transform a sinner more than in the devil's ability to keep him in bondage.
