And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us. (John 1:14)

The Incarnation is the Word, whom we now know as the Son of God, the Second Person in the Trinity, being made man. He who was in the beginning with God, and was God, through whom all things came into being, and apart from whom nothing was made, in whom was life which was the light of men, and whose light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overpower (John 1:2-5). This same Word became flesh and is dwelling among us.

The more we contemplate this reality, the more we lose our anxieties and insecurities, and the more clearly we understand that Jesus, the Lord, is our Shepherd, which is why we shall not want. He whose generative ability gives and preserves life and whose Light dispels darkness, faithfully promised to be with us to the end. If that doesn't encourage, I don't know what will.
