Revelation 16: 15:“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his garments, lest he walk around naked and men see his shame.” How does a thief come? To be successful, a thief must strike suddenly, and when it is least expected. This is one reason to disbelieve those who are expecting Jesus’ ‘eminent return’ any moment now. Our focus should be on being awake to our duty and clothed with deeds of righteousness (Revelation 19: 8), so that whenever He comes, we are ready.
