EXPERIENCING GOD (Genuine Online Deliverance)

Just as the aroma of freshly brewed coffee brightens our mornings, the 7: 00 a.m. Daily Online Mass encourages, inspires, and energizes our rather normal days. For Sis. Teresita Talusig, a member of the Parish Church of St. Agustine CEC in Imus, Cavite, her online experience was extraordinary.

Sis. Tess had her left wisdom tooth extracted last February 19, 2021, and did not take any medication initially. Little did she know that it would lead to something more serious. The following month, the extraction site and the rest of her left face started to swell. She was in terrible pain, unable to eat and sleep, so she finally decided to take pain medication. A dental x-ray was subsequently done but surprisingly came back normal. A check-up by a physician, however, revealed that a sensory nerve has been hit which led to the swelling and pain. Adding to her misery was her cold and stuffy nose which she had suffered for the longest time.

While she was attending the Daily Online Masses, she fervently cried out to God because she could no longer take the pain and discomfort. She laid hands over the affected part of her face and repeatedly prayed, “Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner.” She did this faithfully every morning. As Fr. Dino Jorvina presided and prayed for the sick during one of the Masses, Sis. Tess claimed her healing and noticed that the swelling had already subsided. She felt some relief from her clogged nose and was able to breathe normally. She knew that she was on her way to recovery!

This deliverance is Sis. Tess’ version of a modern-day miracle. She continues to believe for total and complete restoration with the intercession of the church. James 5:14-15 says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven." This pandemic may have restricted the faithful from physically coming to church but has certainly not prevented the elders, with the rest of the body of Christ, from praying over them online. Such is the kingdom of God, for it transcends space and time.
