February 14, 2025 Daily Dose of Discernment

"To sit on My right or on My left is not Mine to give; but it is for those for whom it has been prepared." (Mark 10:40)

The Sons of Thunder, James and John, tried to pull a fast one on the rest of the apostles and asked Jesus to grant that they may sit on either side of Him in His kingdom. Jesus told them that is not up to Him to give away, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared. He went on and once again pointed out the way to attain it, and that is by being the servant of all just like Him who, although Lord of all, did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many.

In the kingdom of God, greatness means humility and service, and more than two seats have been prepared for those who demonstrate them.
