“It is like a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” (Mark 4:31-32)

“… and His kingdom shall have no end.” Thus concludes the section about Jesus in the Nicene Creed. The apostles and prophets proclaimed this. So did Jesus’ parables such as that of the mustard seed. That kingdom continues to increase and is much bigger today than when it began. The process will never stop.

That means it will reach the ends of the earth and all creation; it’s just a matter of time. That’s God’s plan and it’s sure to happen. Consider then how privileged we are to be part of the unfolding of history, of His story, which is the salvation of the whole cosmos. So do your part in it, whether by being a reader, a singer or an usher in church, or visiting the prisoner, praying for the sick, feeding the hungry, or whatever it is He calls you to do.
