Friday, February 21: “Darkened Understanding”

Psalm 107: 10, 11: “There were those who dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in misery and chains, because they had rebelled against the words of God and spurned the counsel of the Most High.”

The unfolding of God’s words gives light and understanding (Psalm 119: 130). To rebel against those words brings darkness and bondage. God’s counsel can never be other than perfect, for His work is perfect. But as long as we exchange the truth of God for a lie (Romans 1: 25), we will never understand or benefit from that wise counsel.
