Friday, January 10: “The Voice to Remember”

Revelation 3: 1b, 3a: “I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. … So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent.”

How disturbing would it be to hear these words from Jesus Christ Himself—”People think you’re alive, you think you’re alive, but you’re dead.” That’ll give you some sleepless nights! But the problem with the Church at Sardis wasn’t a lack of action, but a lack of following what they had been told. Hearing the voice of the Lord is one thing; remembering and keeping it is quite another.
