Friday, January 17: “God’s Will, Revealed”
Ephesians 3: 3, 6: “By revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief …. to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the Gospel.”
Remember that kind intention of God we saw on Monday, that mystery of God’s will heretofore unknown? Well, here it is: The Gentiles are a part of God’s kind intention, as much as those historically and traditionally connected to God. From a first century perspective, St. Paul is saying, “Everyone is in; everyone is welcome,” regardless of race, creed, nationality, or anything that has previously been a cause or part of division or exclusion. Can you think of a kinder intention? I seriously doubt it.
