Friday, January 29: “Meekness as Lordship”

Isaiah 50: 6, 7: “I gave my back to those who strike Me, and my cheeks to those who pluck out the beard; I did not cover My face from humiliation and spitting. For the Lord God helps Me, therefore I am not disgraced; therefore I have set my face like flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.” This is the most powerful example of meekness in the scriptures, and all of history. The sinless was treated as a criminal, the noble was shamed beyond measure—for a moment. But in the end the mockers will bend the knee and proclaim the lordship of He Whom they profaned. You see, meekness is far more powerful than anyone thinks.
