Friday, July 12: “Misrepresented Father”

Deuteronomy 32: 3b, 4: “Ascribe greatness to our God! The rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just; a God of faithfulness and without injustice, righteousness and upright is He.”

After forty years of seeing God literally move sea, earth, and sky on their behalf, the Israelites had yet to understand that He was not some dumb idol like the nations worshiped. He was omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent–and their loving Father (v. 6) Who had made and established them. All of their accusations and rebellion against God stemmed from this: God was ceremony to them, not relationship. Today, we must ascribe greatness to Him Who loves us.
