Friday, July 14: “Oral Obedience”
Psalm 17: 3: “You have tried my heart; You have visited me by night; You have tested me and You find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.”
Of all the types of disobedience our various body parts are capable of, perhaps one of the most devastating is the transgressions of the mouth. Words that deceive or put down others are easy to say but impossible to retrieve. It is not only our thoughts and deeds, but our words as well, which must come under obedience to God.
