Friday, July 7: “Uncircumcised Ears V”
Luke 23: 28: “Jesus turning to them said, ‘Daughters of Jerusalem, stop weeping for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.”
Even on His way to the cross, Jesus’ compassion moved Him to warn the daughters of Jerusalem of the sorrow their future held. At that point, they still had forty years to repent and believe the Gospel of their Messiah. Many individuals did, but as a people and as a nation they continued to persecute Christ by persecuting His Church; and in 70 AD all that Jesus had warned their unhearing ears about transpired.
