Friday, March 1: “The Odd of God VI”

Psalm 73: 21, 22: “When my heart was embittered and I was pierced within, then I was senseless and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.”

This is a pretty accurate description of mankind since the fall, and one frequently employed by psalmists and prophets alike. You would think that God would be eager to wipe us out and start over, as He suggested to Moses (Exodus 32: 10). But God has higher plans for the human race–restoration, guidance, and glory (vv. 23, 24). Against all odds (pun intended), the nearness of God is a constant reality for the Odd of God.
