John 8: 44a:“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father.” There is no such thing as an ‘original will’ that we make up for ourselves. Either we follow the devil’s will for us because, knowingly or unknowingly, we are enslaved to him (v. 34), or we freely submit our wills unto God and follow Him. No one can serve two masters (Matthew 6: 24); neither can one choose to serve none at all. Such an attempted choice will lead to a serving of the devil by default.
