Friday, October 6: “Revival of Revival”
1 Corinthians 9: 23: “I do all things for the sake of the Gospel. so that I may become a fellow partaker of it.”
As it says in today’s psalm reading, “For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good (Psalm 107: 9). ‘Thirsty’ doesn’t refer to a little dryness, it means ‘parched,’ as in your tongue is swollen and your mouth feels like a sandbox and your lips are stuck to each other. That kind of thirsty. So how do we respond to such satisfaction, such deliverance, such love, as has been given to us? With love of our own, a love that no longer cares to partake in earthly things, but seeks to partake in the spread of the Gospel of the Kingdom. Revival begats revival.
