Friday, September 22: “Tempted to Ignore”
Psalm 69: 6: “May those who wait for You not be ashamed through me, O Lord God of hosts; may those who seek You not be dishonored through me, O God of Israel.”
We should not assume that our yielding to temptation and falling into sin is strictly a matter between ourselves and God. As David says here, our sin can lead to shame and dishonor for other believers. We must learn to die to our own fleshly desires, for their sake as well as ours. You see, the answer to one of the Bible’s oldest questions, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4: 9) is a resounding “Absolutely!” SHOW LESS
