Good Friday, March 29: “Trust in the Lord’s Knowledge”

John 13: 36b, 37: “Jesus answered, ‘Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow later.’ Peter said to Him, ‘Lord, why can I not follow you right now? I will lay down my life for You.’”

When Jesus told Peter he’d find a catch on the other side of the boat, he didn’t really believe Him; he just tried it to prove Him wrong. When He said He would be killed and rise again, Peter didn’t believe that either. Now, when Jesus tells him he can’t follow Him right away, more rejection. How about us? Will it take a rooster crowing to make us trust in the Lord’s all-pervading knowledge?
