January 11, 2025 Daily Dose of Discernment

“Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.” (John 6:26)

At any buffet restaurant, the food on the tables is not all there is. There's more where it comes from. Customers don't need to pile up their plates to capacity for fear of being without because servers replenish the various fare. If they get only a little at a time, what they'll get every time will be fresher.

People panic-buy and hoard because for fear of scarcity. As Christians, we should look not at the provisions but to the Provider who for us has an eternal supply of blessings that He is eager to give away. Knowing that dispels our anxieties. Saint Paul says all things belong to us because we belong to Christ. Our confidence and faith should be in Him whose will is for us to have fullness of life and that we, being delivered from our enemies, might be able to serve Him without fear.
