The last enemy that will be abolished is death. (1 Corinthians 15:26)
Our communion, the Charismatic Episcopal Church, celebrates today the Feast of the Lord and Giver of Life. We believe that all life is sacred and uphold its sanctity at all stages, and that we are called to minister to minister to the needs of all, especially the innocent and defenseless, and the least of Jesus' brothers.
God wonderfully created and yet more wonderfully restored the dignity of human nature. In the beginning, He breathed His life into man, but when man sinned and lost His friendship, He, in Christ, gave Himself up to death, destroyed it, and restored life. This makes it clear that God is the giver and nurturer, not the taker, of life. And He will not stop until He fully reinstates us to the Eden He intended as our home, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting. For this fallen world was never meant for one as beautiful as the apple of His eye - we.
