“And they … bear fruit, some thirty, some sixty, and some a hundredfold. (Mark 4:20)

God is the Sower in the parable who generously and indiscriminately scatters and blesses all with His grace. The seed He sows is His greatest gift to us - life - along with which He imparted to us creative ability and potential.

This seed, like God's word, doesn’t return to Him without fulfilling its purpose. The earth it’s planted in bears fruit, some thirty, some sixty, some one hundred times as much. Sometimes not at all, at least not in the beginning. Thank God He is not only gracious but also patient. And that patience always outlasts our stubbornness until eventually our wills become enthralled in His love. The wise thing to do is yield to His way, for our good.
