January 4, 2025 Daily Dose of Discernment
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14:6)
Athanasius of Alexandria said in his brilliant work "On the Incarnation" that there is no disconnect between creation and salvation. God commissioned the same executor for both works; He created all things through Him and, when they became subject to futility and death, effected their salvation through the same agent. Through Jesus Christ, all things were made, and through Him all things will be restored back to fellowship with God. There is no other name under heaven by which this will happen.
Nothing is beyond the reach of Jesus' saving embrace. Because He is the light that enlightens every man (John 1:9), He will translate all men from darkness into His kingdom of light. His being the exclusive Savior doesn't take away from the scope of His salvation which is all creation. If we make this known to all, the whole earth will receive her King.
