I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake. (Psalm 17:15)

There is nothing wrong with emulating a role model as long as we understand that our ultimate goal is to be restored to the image of Him in whose likeness we were created. Only in being like our Lord, the exact representation of God the Father, can we find fulfillment.

Actually, we have been predestined to be restored to the image of Jesus so that He would be the firstborn among many human brethren (Romans 8:29). The more we yield to the Spirit who is working to make that happen, the faster the process and the more satisfied we will be. The more we resist Him, the longer we delay the process and the more elusive joy will be.
