He purposes in His sovereign will that all human history shall be consummated in Christ, that everything that exists in heaven or earth shall find its perfection and fulfilment in Him. (Ephesians 1:10)

I love how the Amplified Bible translates Romans 11:36 - "For from Him (all things originate) and through Him (all things live and exist) and to Him are all things (directed)." The cosmos and all it contains came from God, are sustained and held together by Him, and end in Him. He makes all of this happen through Jesus. As Athanasius said, He employed the same agent, His Son, in creating all things as well as in saving and restoring them. Nothing can keep this from happening. There just isn't anything powerful enough. We have been predestined for this glorious end. There's nothing else we can say but "Hallelujah!"

Who wouldn't want to cooperate with Jesus as He does His redeeming work in us?
