June 16, 2024 Daily Dose of Discernment

“The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows⁠ - how, he himself does not know." (Mark 4:26-27)

When we celebrated the Feast of Pentecost about a month ago, we were reminded of the power from on high that we have received which gives us an ability to make things happen in God's name. The Parable of the Seed proclaims the same and tells us that all we have to do is fulfill our divine mandate. God calls some to plant and some to water, but it is He Himself who causes the growth. After doing our part, we can take our rest and be assured He will faithfully do His, and watch His kingdom flourish.
