"Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

One of the metaphors the Bible uses for the kingdom of God is treasure, to communicate the wealth and joy of being in it. The opposite of it is vanity and striving after the wind, as Solomon describes it. So the good news is that God has chosen gladly to give us His kingdom.

Paradoxically, that kingdom is here and made available to us and yet many don't enter it. Why? Because there is a specific way and we need to follow it. Jesus is that way. Heeding that way is wisdom; ignoring it is folly.
