May 23, 2024 Daily Dose of Discernment

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

In this world, we have tribulation. Jesus gives us a heads-up on that. Our struggles are not unbeknownst to Him and that is why in His compassion, He offers His yoke. He doesn’t promise that the burden will go away, but that it will be light because we can walk together with Him and with His help, we can overcome the world as well.

We may not know the answer as to why we have troubles and battles in the first place, or why God doesn’t take them away. But we do know He came down from heaven to be like us, to be one of us, so He can empathize with us and go through what we go through to prove His solidarity with us and help us fulfill our mandate to rule and reign. Let us find rest in that.
