Monday, February 26: “The Odd of God II”

Mark 3: 13, 19: “[Jesus] went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him … [including] Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.”

Connect the dots, and you will find–Jesus wanted Judas. While the apostle John, in his intense love for the Lord, is particularly harsh on Judas, Jesus wanted him. He knew him, He knew from the beginning he was the betrayer (John 6: 64), yet He wanted him. Jesus needed a Judas; redemption required a Judas. It goes to show, God loves and uses mankind, even at its worst. But the overarching and inevitable goal is to bring it to His best, to be no more the Odd of God.
