Monday, September 30: “Show Your Hard Work”

Acts 20: 35: “In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

For three years Paul had declared Christ among the Ephesians (v. 31), but in his farewell address he focuses on what he had shown them–working hard to help the weak. It is what St. James calls those deeds of wisdom which make our light shine more than words, and make visible the way in which we, and others, should walk.
