Mark 2: 4:“Being unable to get to [Jesus] because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying.” What would lead four men to cut a hole in a fisherman’s roof? Love for their paralyzed friend. Faith that Jesus could, and would, heal him. And hope that Simon Peter, the above-mentioned fisherman, wouldn’t be too mad. That’s a powerful trifecta, one that will last for eternity (1 Corinthians 13: 13), and one that will motivate you to do whatever it takes to pursue God’s will for you.
