“When when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you.” (Luke 14:13-14)
Knowing God has blessed us abundantly will make us secure enough to be generous and expect nothing in return. If we have tasted and seen that our Shepherd is good and so we shall not want, it will free us from the anxiety of trying hard to assure our present and future needs are met by accumulating and withholding things for ourselves. And we will realize the reason He gives us more than enough is so we can share His blessings especially with those most in need, to make His goodness known.
Realizing this, why don’t we give for the exclusive reason of wanting to be a blessing, not to be blessed, because we already have been?
