Jesus said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.” (Mark 13:5)

Eschatology may sound fancy but it simply refers to how everything will wind up, including mankind and its history, and all creation. God made all things good, but they fell into disrepair because of sin, and then Jesus came to earth and started making all things return to their original goodness. Correct eschatology is the culmination of this redemptive process.

Wrong eschatology is the result of misinterpreting scripture to mean God will annihilate the earth through calamities as He judges its sins. If we truly know Him, we would understand that what He destroys is what destroys the world, not the world itself which He loves. That's why Jesus came, to undo the destructive works of the devil and make all things new again. Of course evil forces react to this and it manifests in the form of chaos and disasters. He encourages us not to be fazed by them. They won't be able to stop the restoration of all things. We just have to go with it, not against it.
