James 5: 17, 18:“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the sky poured rain, and the earth produced its fruit.” Wow, that was one powerful prayer! But let us not forget—it was the prayer God told him to pray. (1 Kings 17: 1; 18: 41-46) Compare that with the prayers mentioned in James 4: 3, and note well the difference.
