James 2: 12:“So speak and so act, as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty.” The ‘law of liberty’ is James’ ‘royal law’ of v. 8, which is Jesus’ ‘law of love’ (in which, by the way, the focus is on loving your neighbor, and not so much on loving yourself). Love of self leads to the bondage of sucking up to the rich and disrespecting the poor, while love of neighbor sets us free to love all for who they are. This is the law we will all be judged by.
