John 1: 26:“Jesus said to her, ‘I Who speak to you am He.’” It is one thing to encourage the faith of Mary, Martha, Joanna, or one of the many other women who were noted for their holiness and faithfulness to the Lord. But imagine how this anonymous (and notorious) Samaritan woman felt when she found out that this Jewish man Who had been taking the time to share with her the living water and encourage her despite her troubled life was none other than the Messiah Himself! He cut through all her religious rhetoric and questionable ethics, and prodded her towards honesty with Him and herself. The result? Revival in Samaria! (v. 39)
