Saturday, January 11: “The Voice to Obey”
Psalm 104: 4, 8, 19: “[God]makes the winds His messengers, flaming fire His ministers … The mountains rose; the valleys sank down to the place which You established for them … He made the moon for the seasons; the sun knows the place of its setting.’”
A common deceptive voice says, “You can believe in God, but reject ‘organized religion.’” Read this psalm; all thirty-five verses. It reveals a God Who is intensely organized; Who designed His creation to function precisely and flawlessly. “Sea, you stop here. Birds, you stay there. Sun and moon, go where I tell you, when I tell you.” And yet His children expect to approach this uber-organized God in a zany, disorganized, individualistic fashion? If that’s you, you’re listening to the wrong voice, wherever it’s coming from.
