Saturday, January 4: “Christmas Proclaims: God Sees, God Hears, God Knows!”

Exodus 3: 7:“The Lord said, ‘I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings.’”

Even when the Israelites had been slaves for four hundred years, God knew. His eye was on them; His ear was open. He knew before Israel and his family of seventy left for Egypt what would happen—but it was all part of His plan. Christmas reminds us to be at peace, because, as Isaiah says, “I will give thanks to Your Name, for You have worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness … The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.”(Isaiah 25: 1b; 26: 3, 4)
