Saturday, June 1: “The Holy Trinity: Equal in Glory”
Proverbs 25: 27:“It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it good to search out one’s own glory.”
Again, from St. Athanasius: “But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is all one, the Glory equal, the Majesty co-eternal.” The three Persons of the Holy Trinity all seek to glorify each other, not themselves(John 12: 28; 16: 14; 17: 1; 17: 5). In this way their glory is equal and their unity is manifested. It should be no different with the children of God; we glorify Him by seeking not our own glory, but His.
