Saturday, May 18: “Seasons of Suffering VII”
Ephesians 6: 14-16:“Stand firm, therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”
We must never downplay the reality of suffering, reproach, grief, disappointment, and mourning as a part of our lives. The evil one can use them to inflict much pain. But their fiery sting can be extinguished when we walk in the truth, righteousness, and peace of God, and with the shield of faith know that we will live to fight another day. Through the suffering, we stand firm!
