Saturday, May 25: “Grace in the Midst of Suffering”

Matthew 12: 20:“A shattered reed He will not break off, and a smoldering wick He will not put out, until He leads justice to victory. And in His Name the Gentiles will hope.”

We all have times when we feel battered; occasionally we want to be blazing, but the best we can manage is a faint smoldering. However, as we have seen all this week, the Lord is aware of us during those times and brings us to victorious justice, rather than some form of mercy-killing. He is longsuffering and very merciful. He promises and delivers grace in the midst of our weakness, and on top of all that, hope for the future of all nations. There’s no limit to the goodness of Jesus!
